A home with a cosmopolitan soul

"Mind very open, fresh and with influences from everywhere. With a lot of personality," describes Barbara Aurell, the interior designer at the head of Estudio en Blanco, to the couple who contacted her to create a house with these same characteristics. After living four years in China, Marc and Sandra returned to Barcelona with Levi, their son, and found in the Eixample a floor of Nolla mosaic floors and high ceilings covered by stately moldings that perfect to begin this new stage. "The important thing about this house was that customers wanted a cozy space without being recharged. In addition, the challenge was also to maintain and relocate the furniture they had from their home in Shanghai to relocate them in this large space and adapt them to new furniture," Explain.

To achieve this, Aurell mixed the pieces they already had with icons of the 20th century design, inherited furniture, with other custom made on purpose and with art, one of the passions of the owners. "The furniture is totally eclectic and a reflection of what they are: classic, chic and contemporary," he says. But not only aesthetics were taken into account, but also function. In the living room, the interior designer designed a sofa of great proportions and a pouf ("which fill the entire space with the intention of taking great naps and being able to be both very relaxed") and the center is occupied by a carpet and two easy tables move, to "let your child be at ease". So it's nice to go back home.
