When the traveler approaches Cava & Hotel Mastinell and its silhouette betrays the connection of this establishment with the viticulture. Surrounded by vineyards, the building's design is inspired by the arrangement in rhyme of the bottles -tumbled in large compact blocks- that is used while the second fermentation takes place in the elaboration of the cava according to traditional methods. The construction, lowered to avoid the visual impact on the environment, follows the principles of bioclimatic architecture. Self-sustainable, it has solar panels, reuses rainwater, has a biomass boiler and uses cross ventilation.
Awarded with different awards for his lines and decoration -in the Shanghai International Interior Design Expo he was awarded the gold medal, in 2011-, he was also declared Best Tourist Experience in 2015 and Best Accommodation in the awards of wine tourism in 2016, both organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya. It is not weird. Since the Valderrama family acquired the hotel from the French multinational Rémy Cointreau, Mastinell has grown day by day.
Surrounded by organic farming vines, in which the grapes are picked by hand, in their cellar cutting-edge technology is used that preserves the integrity of the fruit. The guest can taste the magnificent result of this thorough process in any of its 5 cellars, 3 white wines, a red wine and a Muscat Muscat. Or, better yet, pair them in their own restaurant, Gastronomic Space In Rima. In your letter you will find healthy dishes made with natural products from the Penedés and ingredients of the red slow food, acquired from nearby producers in the area.
WITHOUT LEAVING THE HOTEL
The guest can relax with a wine or cava bath as a couple, in their room, and choose from the green, red grape or Gran Reserva cava bath menu.
For fans of body and facial treatments, Mastinell offers beauty and wellness rituals with grapes, rich in natural antioxidants that protect the skin and regenerate dead cells. And, to forget stress and tensions, nothing like soothing and decontracting massages.
The offer of wine tourism services is wide, with walks through the vineyards of the hotel by bicycle, segway - electric scooter - and on horseback, or the collection of the grapes and the tread in vintage time.
